'Alien 5' Movie News: Michael Biehn Confident Of Film To Happen?
"Alien 5" is not yet in production since Ridley Scott's plate is still full working on another "Alien" prequel." Despite lack of any official announcement, rumors about the possibility of "Alien 5" still persist.
Talks regarding the new sequel began when director Neill Blomkamp tweeted an unofficial concept art depicting some of his thoughts for a new entry in the "Alien" franchise. Just recently, Sigourney Weaver and other "Alien" stars spoke of future possibilities.
At the San Diego Comic-Con 2016, James Cameron, producer Gale Anne Hurd and other cast members of the franchise got together and spoke about the 1986 classic. The discussion led to some significant claims from Michael Biehn as to the future of the franchise and his involvement in it.
"I got a call a few years ago from Neill Blomkamp and my agent say he wants to put me in his new movie, he was interested in me playing the antagonist and could I film myself doing a scene for him--it didn't feel like an audition. I thought I did a pretty good job but I got a call from my agent saying I didn't get the part and I was surprised because I thought he wanted me to be in it," said the actor, as reported by Screen Rant.
However, the actor went on explaining why he is confident that "Alien 5" is indeed happening.
"I think it would be very embarrassing to Fox if they don't give Sigourney the movie that she really wants to go out on. I don't know when it's going to happen but I know it's going to happen and I know I'm going to be in it and there's going to be a new Newt, she's going to be about 26 or 27 and looks a lot like Jennifer Lawrence to me but I don't know," he said.
While "Alien 5" remains associated with rumors and hearsay, "Alien: Covenant" is currently moving forward and is set to arrive August next year.
