'AKA Jessica Jones' New Series News: Marvel Netflix Show to Change Title

With Marvel's upcoming installment in their Netflix lineup approaching fast, an important detail on the title has recently become revealed that may or may not matter to the viewers.

The believed title of 'AKA Jessica Jones' has recently been discovered to be changed to a simple 'Jessica Jones' by Marvel for reasons unknown. With the single named title of the preceding series, the studio perhaps didn't want any unwarranted distinctions.

"Several noticed the change when searching for the series' placeholder page over Netflix interfaces (confirmed with our own screenshot below), paring down the title to a cleaner Marvel's Jessica Jones. No explicit reason was given for the change, though ComicBook.com reportedly confirmed the new title's legitimacy with Marvel," writes Screen Crush.

Everything else about the series is believed to be the same, such as the characters, actors, and the soft release date of later this year.

Here's the official synopsis:

"Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, bada** private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check."

Along with Krysten Ritter leading as the title character, Mike Colter will appear as Luke Cage before receiving his own solo series, David Tennant as Zebediah Kilgrave, Carrie-Ann Moss as Harper, and Rachael Taylor as Patsy Walker.
