‘Agent Carter’ Season 2 Premiere Delayed Due To President Barack Obama’s State Of The Union [TRAILER]

Marvel's "Agent Carter" season 2 might not hit the small screen on time.

President Barack Obama's State of the Union, which was initially scheduled on Jan. 26, 2016, has been delayed to Jan. 12, 2016, which forced ABC to postpone "Agent Carter" season 2 to Jan. 19, 2016, according to TV Line. The Hayley Awell-starred series was originally set to premiere on Jan. 5, 2016.

While "Agent Carter" season 2 has been delayed by two weeks from its original schedule, the series is still set to run for two hours, which entails running its first two episodes back-to-back, according to Tech Times.

Marvel's recent action would not have affected the initial scheduled premiere of "Agent Carter" season 2; however, delaying the series' sophomore run will let it have a smooth flow for its ten episodes.

Aside from Marvel's "Agent Carter," other shows that are set to return from winter break on Jan. 5, 2016 include Fox's "The Grinder" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," as well as NBC's "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago Med." The aforementioned shows will still stick to the scheduled airdate.

Marvel's "Agent Carter" season 2 will see Carter, America's top agent, go to Hollywood. Based from the sequences in the series' promo trailer, the show is assumed to showcase a blend of action, romance, and comedy.

Previous reports say that the exact reason why Carter goes to Los Angeles is still ambiguous for the time being; however, some reports indicated that the Strategic Scientific Reserve secret agent is set to fly to the region for a dangerous task in response to the atomic age threats of World War II.

Aside from Awell as Carter, "Agent Carter" also stars Enver Gjokaj as Chief Daniel Sousa, James D'Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, and Chad Michael Murray as Agent Jack Thomson, among others.

Marvel's "Agent Carter" season 2 is to hit televisions on Jan. 19, 2016.
