In honor of Ash Wednesday, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey released a new clip of their upcoming series 'A.D. The Bible Continues,' and the power couple detailed the anticipated series giving viewers a first glimpse of some of the scenes to expect.

This Easter Sunday, April 5th, 2015, join millions of viewers for the premiere of A.D. The Bible Continues and continue on a 12-week journey through what would become the most powerful global movement in history - the rise of the Church. 'A.D. The Bible Continues' is set to premiere at 9/8c on NBC.

A.D. The Bible Continues starts with the Crucifixion and The Resurrection -catalysts that altered history. What follows is the epic tale of "A.D." chronicling several of the most intense and tumultuous decades in history. The complicated birth of the early Church was a time filled with enormous faith, persecution, political intrigue, brutal Roman oppression and the desperate Jewish revolt. The entire world was transformed, and the course of human history would be forever changed.

'A.D.' was created by husband and wife duo Burnett and Downey following their unprecedented success of 'The Bible' series on the history channel. Juan Pablo di Pace, the critically acclaimed Argentinean actor, has been cast as Jesus. Di Pace leads an accomplished cast hailing from more than 10 different nations, including John - Babou Ceesay (Gambia); Mary Magdalene - Chipo Chung (Zimbabwe); James - Denver Isaac (Zimbabwe); Arik - Nicholas Pinnock (Jamaica); Simon The Zealot - Fraser Ayers (Scotland/Black); Ananias - Peter De Jersey (Britain); Mother Mary - Greta Scacchi (Italy); Thomas - Johannes Johannesson (Iceland); Judas - Cesare Taurasi (Italy); and Boaz - George Georgiou (Greece).
