Actress Kerry Washington News: 'Scandal' Star Featured on Cover of InStyle Magazine
'Scandal' star Kerry Washington who graces the cover of InStyle magazine for the month of March revealed her beauty and fitness secrets. The mom to 11-month old baby Isabelle also revealed her newly found balance in her life while juggling her career and family life.
Washington, wearing a white, shoulder-bearing dress on the cover looks fitter than ever. Apparently, it's all because of "Pilates, Tracy Anderson pregnancy DVDs, hiking, the elliptical machine and yoga," Washington revealed in her interview for the magazine.
While the TV icon enjoys her new fit body, she also revealed how she handles her new life now that she has a baby and a husband. "Women use this 'guilt' word a lot, but I'm not sure how I feel about it," Washington said.
"I know why it's the word that keeps coming up, but I can't co-sign on it yet. There has got to be a better way. You can't be all things to all people all the time. You have to experience your humanity, you have to know you are a limited vessel and can only do so much," she added.
The actress who plays Olivia Pope in the hit TV drama series looks like she is indeed doing a good job balancing her life. The star also reportedly got secretly married finally to former football player Nnamdi Asomugha.
Meanwhile, as it looks to be all good for Washington, she apparently did encounter a little controversy in her latest cover photo for the magazine. Several reacted when the photos of Washington were posted online as her skin was noticeably lighter than usual which some were against to, saying that there was too much photoshop involved.
But the magazine reacted right away explaining the details on Washington's cover photo. "While we did not digitally lighten Kerry's skin tone, our cover lighting has likely contributed to this concern. We understand that this has resulted in disappointment and hurt. We are listening, and the feedback has been valuable. We are committed to ensuring that this experience has a positive influence on the ways in which we present all women going forward," the magazine said in a statement.
The magazine will be available on the newsstands and downloadable online this February 13, 2015.
