‘Deadpool’ Game News: Activision & Marvel Make ‘Deadpool’ Title Available on Steam Again
Even as the 'Deadpool' movie created a sort of hype at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con 2015, developer Activision and Marvel decided to make hay while the sun is shines by making the 'Deadpool' game available on Steam once again. In fact, 'Merc with a Mouth' fans would possibly getting the title while it is available, for it may not remain there for very long.
According to IB Times, before the title was taken down, 'Deadpool' was available on the PlayStation network, Xbox Live as well as Steam. However, the game was taken down when Activision's license with Marvel expired in 2014, reports PC Gamer. This actually shocked fans, because the 'Deadpool' game was still relatively new, but was still taken down after a few months. The game was, however, still available in retail stores.
Polygon reports that 'Deadpool' was not the sole game to be taken down, as several other popular titles like 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' and 'X-Men: Destiny' were also taken down. Although 'Deadpool' has returned to Steam, it is not available again on the PlayStation network or Xbox Live. Hence, unless fans are able to find a physical copy of this last-gen action game, it is best to purchase the game through Steam.
Surprisingly enough, neither Activision nor Marvel issued any special press release or made any prior announcements about the game's return to Steam. This is considered to be somewhat odd as the movie will be releasing next year. In fact, Activision has done the same thing with the 'Prototype Biohazard Bundle,' but later it did release a statement on its official blog.
While the 'Deadpool' game was not a super-hit title, it certainly made the comic book fans very happy, since the title featured the character's signature mix of toilet humor and slapstick comedy, in addition to lots of fourth wall breaking. Moreover, Daniel Way, who wrote the 'Deadpool' comic for more than 60 issues, also wrote the story and dialogue of the game.
It is suggested that fans who are interested in the Marvel character or the upcoming movie ought to purchase 'Deadpool' game right now on Steam for Windows PC. On the other hand, console gamers will have to look for the game on retail stores or bargain bins.
