Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition Review of Specs, Features, Price - New High End Laptop Releases

Taiwanese electronics corporation Acer has released its Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition, a gaming laptop that balances performance and processing speed.

Announced earlier in the year, the laptop, which is dubbed the Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition, is 15.3 inches wide, 10.1 inches long, 0.9 inches thick and weighs 5.2 pounds.

The 15.6-inch screen boasts a 4K screen resolution, which equates to 2,820-by-2,160 pixels. It also has a four-core i7-4710HQ processor, a terabyte of mechanical memory with a 5,400 revolutions per minute writing speed, 256 gigabytes of memory from a solid state drive and 16 gigabytes of DDR3L random access memory.

The laptop is also equipped with a Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.5 gigahertz processor with six megabytes of cache memory, an integrated Nvidia GeForce 840 graphics card with a dedicated two-gigabytes of RAM.

The laptop, which is painted in a black matte finish, has a thin strip of gunmetal that has "Aspire V Nitro" etched along the display hinge, according to Matt Smith from Digital Trends. Smith suggested that Acer was aiming for and successfully achieved a subtle luxurious appeal with the laptop's design.

The laptop, which is made of plastic, has a chiclet keyboard that includes a number pad. The Taiwanese company made use of red light-emitting diodes to illuminate the backlit keyboard, with the option to either turn the red light on or off.

The site also said that the Nitro Black Edition is equipped with a 10.6-by-7.8-centimeter multi-touch ClickPad.

The laptop has a High-Definition webcam that is capable of taking 720p videos, three USB 3.0 and an High-Definition Multimedia Interface port, a 4,605 milliampere-hour Lithium-ion battery that lasts four hours on a full charge, a memory card reader, Wi-Fi capabilities and comes with Windows 8.1.

Last but not least, the price; the laptop is available for $1,399.99.
