ABC TV Schedule News: 'Revenge' Series will be Canceled after Season Four Finale

Revenge is wrapping up for good, probably sooner than most fans of the show expected, as ABC will cancel the drama after four seasons, as confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.

The final episode of the show will air on May 10th. Realistically, it should not be a shock that Revenge is ending, as the show has been intelligently ending its own story.

The series recently wrote Madeleine Stowe's character, Victoria Grayson, off of the show. Meanwhile, Emily VanCamp has been moving towards focusing on her career in feature films, after her roles in Captain America: Winter Soldier and The Girl in the Book.

The decision to end the show has also been compounded by the dwindling ratings that it has been receiving, of course.

Since it began four years ago, the show has lost its show runner Mike Kelley, and critics have not had much positive things to say about it since the second season.

Its most recent season has been averaging a rating of 1.8 among adult aged 18 - 49 in live plus 7.

Executive producer of the show, Sunil Nayar was the first to report the news, stating "We can officially tell our fans that this will be the end of the story," in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

She said that the team on the show has been in discussions with the network and now that they have seen the finale, everyone agrees that the show has run its course, and needs to end.

She was referring to the season finale that will be airing this week. This is the first news from ABC regarding its 2015 -2016 season.
