ABC Summer TV Schedule: Which TV Shows & Series will be Canceled or Renewed in 2015

ABC has finally made a formal announcement about which shows it will be renewing and canceling for the 2015-2016 season. Some of the shows that will be returning are no surprise.

These include all of the series from showrunner Shonda Rhimes, including Grey's Anatomy, coming back for season 12, Scandal, season 5, and How to Get Away with Murder, which will be coming for its sophomore season.

Most of ABC's comedies will also be renewed, as they all have strong ratings. This means that Modern Family will return for its seventh season in the fall, as will The Middle.

The Goldbergs and black-ish will be coming back as well, for their third and second seasons, respectively.

Agents of SHIELD has been renewed for a third season, but its spinoff, will likely not be. Fresh off the Boat, Castle, Once Upon a Time and Nashville, have all been renewed as well.

Besides Fresh off the Boat, which came to the network mid season, these shows do not have particularly high ratings, but have a steady following.

Some of the second season renewals which came as a surprise are Agent Carter, Galavant, American Crime and Secrets & Lies.

Many of these shows had low ratings and mixed critical commentary. They also were structured to last for a limited run, just in case.

However, hopefully this chance will give at least some of them the opportunity to make a bigger splash with their second seasons.

In terms of cancellations, Forever, Cristela, and Resurrection will not be coming back. These three series, along with Revenge are the network's only cancellations so far.
