Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial News: Second Juror Dismissed - 'Nothing To Do With This Case'

The Super Bowl champion Patriots are still in headlines this week as another juror was removed from the Aaron Hernandez murder trial on Wednesday.

ESPN has reported that Judge E. Susan Garsh addressed the jury about the absent member. "That was for reasons that were entirely personal to that juror," Garsh said. "It has nothing to do with this case."

The removal of the juror comes on the heel of an earlier juror dismissal on Feb. 3rd. Evidence was presented that the juror had discussed the case in the past years.

"Over the last few years, the juror has expressed an interest in serving on this particular jury," Garsh said last week. "There is credible evidence that the juror has attended more Patriots games than were disclosed on the questionnaire."

The jury panel is comprised of 16 jurors; 12 will decide the verdict of Hernandez with the others serving as alternates.

The Patriots released Hernandez, who played tight end for the team, after he was arrested in June 2013 for allegedly killing Odin Lloyd.

The semi-pro footballer, Lloyd, was dating the sister of Shayanna Jenkins, the fiancée of Hernandez.

Jenkins will be called to testify in the trial, and it's not known what she will be asked but she was granted immunity on Tuesday afternoon.

Jenkins was facing perjury charges for alleged false testimony given to the grand jury about conversations and actions after the death of Lloyd. Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the charges, which include a weapon violation in addition to the murder charge.

The spokesperson for the District Attorney's office was not available for comment when contacted by the Boston Globe, nor was the lawyer representing Jenkins.

The prosecution alleged that Jenkins disposed of a box believed to contain the weapon used in the murder; however, it's not clear if the testimony will incriminate Hernandez or not.
