Marvel's 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones' Series Cast News: Netflix Show Picks Up Three New Characters
With the upcoming 'Daredevil' series kicking off Marvel's Netflix takeover, more development news on the casting of the following show, 'A.K.A. Jessica Jones' has just been released.
Along with the previously announced cast, the series has now recruited Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval.
"Darville will play Malcolm, a neighbor of Jessica's whose life will cross with the private detective's in a surprising way. Moriarty will play Hope, a young girl who becomes a client of Alias Investigations, Jessica's business. Traval will play a by-the-book New York City Police Department officer," writes The Hollywood Reporter.
Krysten Ritter has been casted to play the lead, Jessica Jones, along with Mike Colton for Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, and David Tenant as Killgrave.
There hasn't been much said on the premise of the show, but Jessica Jones is described as a troubled female superhero that has a connection with The Avengers.
"The character Jessica Jones was first introduced in Alias, the 28-issue Brian Michael Bendis/ Michael Gaydos comic book series published by Marvel imprint MAX. Jessica was a former Avenger who didn't last long in the ranks of the A-list superhero team and who was overcoming a trauma revealed during the course of the series," writes The Hollywood Reporter.
'A.K.A. Jessica Jones' is the second show to be released out of the four Netflix has ordered. Each of the series have been capped at 13 episodes for their first season.
Viewers will get to see the new comic book inspired series later this year, much after the release of 'Daredevil' on April 10th.
