A$AP Mob Member Death News: A$AP Yams Dies at 26 - Hip Hop World Responds to Tragic Loss

The hip-hop industry has taken another loss with the recent death of A$AP Yams or Steven Rodriguez, one of the founding members of the Harlem-based collective, A$AP Mob.

The member was 26, and the cause of death has not yet been revealed, but the impact on the hip hop world has been significantly prominent.

A$AP Mob member, A$AP Ferg tweeted: "You will be missed Bro. We done touched a lot of ground together, landed on a lot of different soil" and, "You will always be loved & your spirit will live on!"

Along with many other artists outside their group displaying love and remorse.

"Since news of A$AP Yams' death first began to spread on social media, countless tributes have poured in from both the A$AP Mob and the hip-hop community. 'Rest in peace Yams. A$AP is family', Drake tweeted, while Wale wrote,'Yams was a great spirit. Always wit the jokes good vibes EVERYtime'. Chamillionaire, Danny Brown, Lil B, Chance the Rapper, Action Bronson, Wiz Khalifa and countless more have all paid their respects to Yams on Twitter. 'A.S.A.P YAMS should be remembered as a leader, an innovator and most importantly as an important part of NYC youth culture', Azealia Banks tweeted," writes Rolling Stones.

Rodriguez has been credited as being their group's founder, and prized with the fact that the group was even able to get signed to a label.

The A$AP member ran a hip-hop blog that secured the group a lot of attention and spurred the careers of the group's breakout stars, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Yams.

It has been noted that Rodriguez did have a drug problem that appeared to be curbed after he entered rehab in July 2014.
