Donald Trump has officially joined the 2016 United States Presidential Election. The 69 year old business mogul, icon and head of The Trump Organization is looking to invest in the White House.

After years of claiming that he would join the race for president, with no follow through, Trump is finally taking the plunge, and announced on June 16 that he will be running for president.

He teased his announcement starting on June 15, sharing a tweet that said that June 16th would be a special day. Specifically, he said that it "[would] be a really big day for America. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

He made the actual announcement at the world renowned Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in New York City. He also shared his visions for the country and his plans, as well as his campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again".

In his speech, he talked about the declining manufacturing power of the United States, adding that he is the man for the job when it comes to bringing back jobs to the country and boosting its economy.

He also made comments referring to the other Republican candidates in the race, stating that he had the business know how that would help him to negotiate deals that would bring America back to its former standard.

Trump has previously claimed that he would run for president in 1988, 200, 2004, 2012, and 2016, however this is the first time that he is an official candidate.

Currently, there are at least 12 republican candidates running for president in the 2015 Presidential Elections. These include Jeb Bush, George Pataki and Carly Fiorina.
