2016 Moto X News, Rumors: Motorola Silent On Release Date For Latest Flagship
News and rumors are silent on the 2016 Moto X released date as the mid-range Moto M will reportedly have December launch, although there's no confirmation to the initial reports from official news channels.
Since the release of some Moto X models in 2015, news seemed hushed on the company's part when it comes to the launch of a successor. The rumors and leaks have pointed out that Motorola is working on the X, which reportedly features a Snapdragon 820 processor with 4GB of RAM. It will also have a display of 5.5 inches.
The anticipation is warranted considering that the Moto X 2015 featured impressive specs for the price range. There was also the Moto X Force, which was billed to have unbreakable glass screen.
The news and rumors claimed that 2016 Moto M will feature Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 mated to the Adreno 506 550MHz, with 3GB or 4GB of RAM with either 32GB or 128GB of storage (expandable though microSD). The other specs include 1.5W speakers and 3.5mm jack and multi-touch capacitive touchscreen.
With the release of the Moto M and Moto M Plus probably this December, does that mean Motorola is dropping production for the the 2016 Moto X? There's no news that would either confirm or deny this speculation.
One of the news reports that filtered out was that Moto X 2015 was included in the list of phones to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. It's not clear at this point what that means for the 2016 Moto X.
