2015 TV Series Renewal & Cancellation News: List of Shows on the Chopping Block
The news that Revenge has been canceled has officially begun the season of cancellations. Many other shows on television are suffering in terms of ratings, and most networks will be announcing which of their shows will be renewed and canceled by the middle of May.
There are some other shows, which based on their ratings, may not live to see another season on the airwaves.
One of these is Hart of Dixie, which is on the CW. The fourth season of the show was shortened, and also moved to Friday nights, where it got about 1 million viewers during the entire season.
The writers made the Season 4 finale seem like a series finale, and the cast appears to have already moved on from the show.
Marvel's Agent Carter currently has an average of 4.5 million viewers a week, but there were 12 million watching the first episode.
It was well received by critics, and ABC may want to keep its relationship with Marvel strong, which may be why ABC President Paul Lee told Entertainment Weekly that there was a possibility of there being a season 2 for the show.
Another Marvel show, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, is not attracting the huge Marvel fan base that the executives on ABC have hoped. The ratings for the show have remained consistent during its second season, and are doing well according to critics, in comparison to last year. There is a bigger likelihood that this show will be renewed as opposed to Carter, especially because of show's connection with the Marvel films.
Other shows possibly headed for cancellation include About a Boy on NBC, Resurrection on ABC and Nashville, also on ABC.
