'19 Kids and Counting' News: Josh Duggar Accused of Molesting Underage Girls
According to a 2006 police report which InTouch Weekly was able to obtain, Josh Duggar, the eldest son from TLC's hit reality series, 19 Kids and Counting, confessed to molesting at least five underage girls when he was a teen. Some of these allegedly include his sisters, according to reports from TMZ.
His parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, worked to hide the scandal for many years. Josh Duggar has recently come forward, confirming these reports.
The family apparently was aware about Duggar's sexual misconduct since 2002, according to the police reports, but they chose not to take action until a year later.
A formal investigation about the allegations did not begin until 2006, when an anonymous source leaked information about the incidents to producers on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
According to the reports, in March 2002, a young girl approached Jim Bob to tell him that Josh, who was 14 years old at the time "had been touching her breasts and genitals while she slept."
In July of the same year, Josh admitted that the accusations from the girl were true. By March 2003, Josh is accused of having molested more minors, "often when they slept, but at times when they were awake".
At this time, Jim Bob brought the information to his church and the group decided to send Josh away from March to July 2003 to a "program that consisted of hard physical work and counseling."
However, Michelle Duggar admitted to police in 2006 that Josh was just sent to a family friend in Arkansas. Josh has since come forward, confirming his actions.
