'19 Kids and Counting' Josh Duggar Scandal News: Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar Accuse Police Chief of Releasing Report for a Bribe
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, parents of Josh Duggar, who has recently been the center of a controversial molestation scandal, believe that the release of the police report about their son's activities was a deliberate attack on their family.
During an interview with FOX News' Megyn Kelly on June 3rd, the stars of the TLC hit reality series, 19 Kids and Counting, accused the Springdale Police Chief, Kathy O'Kelley of wanting to hurt their family in exchange for money.
The Duggars stated that the effects of the scandal are publicly shaming their family, and that the whole situation was started by someone who had malicious intentions towards themselves and their children.
"There's an agenda," said Michelle on The Kelly File. "There's people that are purposely trying to bring things out and twisting them to hurt and slander."
Her husband, Jim Bob, said that the release of the report was led by Police Chief O'Kelley, who is about to retire.
"She was getting ready to retire and she said, 'There's a few things I want to do before I retire," said Jim Bob during the interview. "I think I was on her list."
The Duggars added that they are taking legal action against the police chief because according to them, their daughters, Jill and Jessa, "were victimized in these last couple of weeks more than they were 12 years ago."
Josh Duggar admitted to molesting five girls, two of which were his sisters while they were asleep when he was 14years of age.
