Sean Combs Hoax: Puff Daddy Arrested in Tupac Shakur Murder? Sean Combs Not Detained For Tupac Murder

Word about Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs being arrested and charged for the murder of Tupac Shakur 18 years after the latter's death went viral weeks ago when an article was published proclaiming the news.

"Sources close to Sean "Puffy" Combs have confirmed that Mr. Combs was arrested this morning in connection with the 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas, NV. This news comes just two days before the 18th anniversary of Shakur's death," read the article.

The article appears to be a hoax, since there has been no mainstream media coverage of the topic since the article was posted. However, the article spread through the Internet and was even republished in several websites, including Huzlers, a satirical website.

"On Thursday, September 17th, 2014 the arrest of Sean "Puffy" Combs may have been undertaken by authorities for the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur on the Las Vegas, Nevada Strip," another article read.

Despite the articles going viral, it seems that there is no truth to it, especially since Combs has been active on his Twitter.

"The art of shutting the [expletive] up and when not to. Few master it...," wrote Combs Thursday.

In addition to this, it was reported that there has been no official announcement from any involved government offices.

"However, neither the New York Police Department nor the Clark County District Attorney's office announced the arrest (or imminent arrest) of Sean Combs or any other party in connection with the murder of Tupac Shakur on 10 September 2014, and any such announcements would certainly have generated much wider publicity in the American news media," read an article from Snopes, a website that debunks hoax articles.

The website adds that Combs is still free, as evidenced by his recent purchase of a $40 million mansion.

Combs is not new to being involved in a viral hoax, since just a few weeks ago, a satirical article claimed that his pineapple ciroc has been recalled due to having traces of cocaine.
