Reports has it that Christian Slater who plays Edward Alderson in Mr. Robot is still on board for the upcoming "Mr. Robot" Season 2 even though Edward was deceased already. He even had a tombstone. 

The casting news lead avid observers to conclude two possibilities. Either Slater is in for Alderson's brief flashback that will pack some tasty revelation, or the series will put on some glorious resurrection scene. 

Edward fathers the central character Elliot Alderson played by Rami Malek, reports Crossmap.

Meanwhile, executive producer Sam Esmail has revealed to Deadline that exciting things are about to unfold for Mr. Robot in Season 2. While Mr. Robot is a figment of cyber security engineer Elliot's imagination, the earlier may just interact with other people in Elliot's life.

Esmail also hinted that the creative team is probing the possibility of Elliot further coming across with drug lord Fernando Vera portrayed by Elliot Villar. By the end of the first season, tension has risen between two parties after Vera raped Shayla Nico (Frankie Shaw), an important female in Elliot's life. 

"Mr. Robot" Season 2 is expected to be more intense as Malek who plays the show's protagonist already has asked his agents to clear his schedule as the series requires a lot of energy and focus. 

Fans would agree that Elliot, a regular engineer by day and a hacker by night, who goes through hallucinations and uses drugs is indeed a challenging role to play. 

With more stressful external scenarios coming up, we can only look forward to what will happen to Elliot's mental health.
