'Longmire' Season 4 Update, News: Netflix to Air Former A&E Series

Fans of 'Longmire', the crime drama series, should rejoice as Neflix has announced that they will be airing the show for its fourth season. This comes after the disappointing news that fans received from A&E about the series cancellation, which happened before the final season's episode aired on August 4.

According to Christian Today, Netflix vice-president (Original Content) Cindy Holland has recently shared the network's decision to pick up 'Longmire'. She said, "When Warner Horizon Television came to us with the idea for a new season of Longmire, we were intrigued because the series is so unique, and consistently great," adding, "We are thrilled to help continue Walt Longmire's story for his large and passionate following."

It is worth mentioning here that 'Longmire' is based on the best-selling author Craig Johnson's mystery novels. The crime drama revolves around the life of Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor), who a committed and charismatic sheriff of Absaroka County in Wyoming. The storyline of 'Longmire' follows the sheriff as he resumes his job following his wife's untimely death. His daughter Cady and friends lend him a hand in probing major crimes in his county.

The other main cast members of the series include Cassidy Freeman (Cady), Katee Sackhoff (Vic Morettu), Lou Diamond Phillips (Henry Standing Bear), Adam Bartley (The Ferg), and Bailey Chase (Branch Connally).

A report by Deadline suggests that 'Longmire' Season 4 will take off from the events that occurred in the Season 3 finale, when Longmire discovers the person responsible for killing his wife. Driven by impulse, Longmire launches a hunt to track his wife's killer and avenge her death.
