‘Homeland’ Season 4 Release Date, New Trailer: New Season Will See Carrie in Middle East

A brand new trailer for 'Homeland' depicts Carrie Mathison shipping off overseas toward the Middle East for her latest Season 4 assignment. The premiere of the upcoming installment will air on Sunday, October 5 at 9 pm on Showtime.

The latest trailer is exclusive to Showtime and can be viewed here here. Viewers will notice that this time around Mathison has been assigned to one of the most perilous and dangerous CIA headquarters in the region.

The first trailer, released in July, and revealed that Mathison is the front lines at Pakistan CIA Station.The second one was released on Tuesday, shows Mathison reportedly "left with no choice," leaving her child with Nicholas Brody behind as she pushes towards Afghanistan.

One a side note, the new season will not feature Brody who was killed in the latest season of 'Homeland'.

With Brody removed from the show, a diverse group of new actors joined the cast including Corey Stoll, Laila Robbins, Raza Jaffrey and Michael O'Keefe.

The trailer shows Mathison and Bachman, played by Stoll attacked by Middle East locals in a car.

'Homeland' stars a United States Marine Corps Scout Sniper, named Brody, played by Emmy Award Winner Damian Lewis, who held as prisoner of war for eight years together with friend and fellow scout sniper Tom Walker. Upon his return to the U.S., he was assumed to be a terrorist.

Meanwhile, Matthison (CIA officer), played by Emmy Award winner Claire Danes, puts Brody under the microscope because she believes his sudden rescue was a plot to execute a terrorist attack on the U.S.

'Homeland' is a winner of 6 Emmy Awards in 2012 and 2013 which include outstanding drama series, outstanding writing for a drama series, outstanding lead actor in a drama series, outstanding lead actress in a drama series, and outstanding original main title theme music. The show has also been nominated in several other categories for the Emmy Awards.
