For the past three decades, Scott Wesley Brown has left an indelible mark on Christian music, his signature on nine number one singles, and his songs have been recorded by such artists as Petra, Sandi Patti, Amy Grant, Pat Boone, The Imperials and international opera star Placido Domingo.
Now, this prolific songwriter reaches into the past to preserve and revive classic hymns for the future, with his new release Old Hymns Made New. In addition to the new CD release, Scott Wesley Brown will be performing at the Worship Hymn conferences that will be unfolding in cities around the world in 2006.
"I think reaching back into history is and has always been a good thing," states Brown. "What we are trying to do with the Worship Hymns is to elevate the powerful content of the lyrics and combine it with the great music of today."
Old Hymns Made New is the latest release from the new Worship Hymn Series, which debuted earlier this year with Kristina's Hymns: The Old Made New and Worship Hymns, Volume 1. For the past three years, producer Billy Smiley has been developing, rewriting, and rearranging hymns with fifteen worship leaders and songwriters from around the country. The result is 150 new versions of classic hymns coming to the church on various Worship Hymn albums over the next 12-18 months.
Scott Wesley Brown, founder and director of I CARE MINISTRIES , is a veteran Christian artist whose career spans over three decades. He has recorded 21 albums and traveled to 45 countries.
