Venom Movie Marvel News, Rumors: 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Film Director Reveals Upcoming Spinoff Spoilers

In latest Marvel movie news, 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' director Alex Kurtzman explained what moviegoers can expect to see when the upcoming film starring one of the iconic wall crawler's greatest arch nemesis (Venom) arrives in theaters.

"The idea is that you can do things with Venom that you can't do with Spider-Man," said Kurtzman to MTV, "Venom is the representation of every line that will get crossed. He's a much darker character."

The movie is rumored to be titled 'Venom Carnage', where Spider-Man and Venom's greatest enemy Carnage (Venom's genocidal offspring) is expected to be the main villain.

According to the original Marvel comic books from a few decades ago, Spider-Man's alter ego Peter Parker was possessed by the alien symbiote, which increased his superpowers especially his super strength.

However, after the symbiote turned the usual mild-mannered hero into a rabid madman, Spider-Man eventually ditched the controlling creature from outer space and reverted back to his old self.

As a result, the alien symbiote then took control of Parker's former Daily Bugle co-worker Eddie Brock. This happened after the ex-journalist, without any integrity, blamed Parker and Spider-Man for losing his job (before he realized that Peter Parker was in fact Spiderman as a result of bonding with the alien in order to become Venom).

With his newfound knowledge of his greatest enemy's real identity, Brock (as Venom) then threatened to reveal Spider-Man's secret to his family and friends, in addition to the entire world.

However, when Carnage (created after another alien symbiote merged with serial killer Cletus Kasady) went on a rampage in New York City, Venom put his feud with Spider-Man aside and joined forces in order to battle the red alien symbiote.

"I think as long as it keeps staying true to character, and true to who Peter is, and putting him in interesting and complicated situations, it'll survive," said Kurtzman, "Because it's so beloved - everybody loves Spider-Man."

The 'Venom Carnage' film is expected to be released sometime after the year 2015, since the official release date has not been announced yet.
