Along with the come back of Lando Calrissian and Captain Rex, Darth Maul is set to be a focus in "Star Wars Rebels" season 3.

"Star Wars Rebels" season 3 executive producer and creator Dave Filoni confirmed that Darth is set to get the spotlight in the show's upcoming third season. In his interview with IGN, he said that another bit of wonderful story was what had Maul been up to and how he got on the desolate planet.

Filoni also mentioned that they overtly did not answer such questions at the moment, but it was stuff they had considered when they had written the stories. For the executive producer, it had never come to be that he would face off with Vader.

"...at least not yet," Filoni said.

In other news, Filoni took to Twitter a mysterious photo on May 5, which stirred "Star Wars" fans. According to Christian Daily, while some fans had guessed that the image was the recently blinded Kanan's new mask, some had guessed that it was Kanan's shoulder piece. Others had also thought that it was Jaig eyes while others joked that it was Marvel's Daredevil.

On the same date, Filoni revealed that the image was supposedly Captain Rex, who is set to appear in "Star Wars Rebels" season 3

Aside from Captain Rex, "Star Wars Rebels" season 3 is also set to bring Lando Calrissan from the original "Star Wars" film trilogy to the small screen. In his interview with Teekay-421, Billy Dee Williams, who voices Calrissan, said that he was set to return to the "Star Wars" universe and reprise the vocals for Lando in the third season of "Star Wars Rebels."

"Star Wars Rebels" season 3 is set to premiere this year. The exact date is yet to be revealed.
