Spider-Man to Help Swing in the 2014 New Year Celebration with a Sneak Peek of Upcoming Films (VIDEO)

Before Spider-Man stars in next summer's blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man 2, he will celebrate the new year at Times Square's New Year's Eve festivity tonight.

Film Director Marc Webb and the heroic wall-crawler himself came on Good Morning America this week to endorse the New Year's extravaganza along with the film that will debut on May 2, 2014.

In addition, they declared that an original Spider-Man clip will be aired live in Times Square for the first time ever, just prior to the ball drop at midnight.

It is unclear whether everyone's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will be revealing anything else tonight, but rumor has it the new movie's star Andrew Garfield will swing in.

The actor first played the role of mild mannered Peter Parker and his secret identity Spider-Man in the first "The Amazing Spider-Man" film when it debuted in American theaters on July 3, 2012.

Garfield replaced Tobey Maguire as the lead role when the movie franchise was rebooted with the cancellation of Spider-Man 4 in 2010.

If Garfield does in fact make an appearance at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest tonight, it would go down as one of the most iconic moments in the prime time special's 41 year history.

There is also speculation Sony might disclose casting details to both The Amazing Spider-Man 2 villain spinoffs, Venom and Sinister Six.

Both Venom and Sinister Six films are expected to debut right after The Amazing Spider-Man 3, presently set for release on the silver screen June 10, 2016.
