‘Spider-Man’ New Movie Rumors: 'Harry Potter' Star Daniel Radcliffe Being Considered for Webslinger Role?

The rumor mill has started working overtime soon after Sony Entertainment announced on Feb. 10 that it will be collaborating with Marvel Studios for a new Spider-Man movie. Quoting Sony, sources have claimed that though Andrew Garfield will not returning to reprise his role in the upcoming Spider-Man movie, the Sinister Six would continue to move on.

According to Latin Post, while Sony will be coming out with the third installment of the 'Spider-Man' movie franchise, its aim would be to present an original story with the characters, especially the villains, of the classic comics.

Although movie goers loved Garfield very much, now Sony and Marvel plan to create a younger Peter Parker, who may could still be in high school. Initially, there were speculations that the upcoming move may possibly follow the story of Miles Morales, a black-Hispanic who, according to the comics, takes over for Parker after his death. Meanwhile, there are rumors that several actors, including Carlos Pratts, Donald Glover, John Boyega and Tristan Wilds, are being considered for the role of Morales.

Names of several actors have also surfaced for the role of Parker, including Logan Lerman, who was earlier seen in a number of films produced by the studio, such as 'Fury,' 'Percy Jackson,' and 'Noah.' According to speculations, Jack O'Connell, who is currently enjoying an exceptional year and has actor starred in 'Unbroken,' ''71' and 'Starred Up,' is also being considered for the role of Parker.

Twenty-year-old actor Ansel Elgort, who is currently in the 'Divergent' series, and Taron Egerton who featured in 'Kingsman: The Secret Service,' are also said to be among the probables. The other possible candidates for Peter's role include Dylan O'Brien and Daniel Radcliffe.

As of now, the upcoming 'Spider-Man' is slated for July 28, 2017 premiere.
