'Spider-Man: Homecoming' News, Rumors: ‘Birdman,’ ‘Spotlight’ Michael Keaton Set To Play Villain?

Following the talks about the official title of Jon Watts' upcoming Spider-Man film reboot, "Spider-Man: Homecoming," it is revealed that "Birdman" and "Spotlight" actor Michael Keaton might join the the project and the film is rumored to feature the villain Vulture.

Sources told Variety that Keaton is in early talks to be part of Watts' "Spider-Man: Homecoming, " which stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, known more as Spider-Man. As per the publication, the "Birdman" and "Spotlight" actor might play a villain in Marvel's coming-of-age film.

Keaton has shifted roles in the comic book realm, as he formerly played the role of the Dark Knight in Tim Burton's 1989 "Batman." Aside from his roles as the Caped Crusder, Keaton is also known for his roles in Alejandro Inarritu's comedy drama "Birdman" and Tom McCarthy's historical drama "Spotlight." The actor is also set to appear in Burton's fantasy film sequel "Beetlejuice 2," Michael Cuesta's action thriller "American Assassin," and John Lee Hancock's historical drama "The Founder."
