'Power Rangers' Movie, Cast News: Film Set To Reflect Persona Thru ‘Signature Combat Moves'

Along with talks that Dean Israelite's "Power Rangers" is set to be a coming of age film, it is also revealed that the titular superheroes are set to have their unique combat technique.

In his interview with Collider at San Diego Comic-Con, RJ Cyler, who plays Billy the Blue Ranger in the upcoming film, revealed that each of the Rangers had their own signature combat style that unveils their personalities. He also discussed how they worked with their stunt doubles and how such battle techniques diverge from the original television series.

In another interview with MTV at San Diego Comic-Con, Dacre Montogomery, who plays Jason the Red Ranger in the film called Israelite's "Pwer Rangers" a "coming of age," a theme it shares with Jon Watts' Marvel Comics film "Spider-Man: The Homecoming."

As per Montgomery, while the film is set in the characters' high school life, it is ensured that the superhero movie would keep fun from the original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" series.

"Power Rangers" follows the same premise following a group of high schoolers who got superpowers to save the world from evil. At this point, fans know that the Power Rangers' customs are set to be metallic in nature, as compared to the iconic colored spandex suits the heroes wore in the previous generations.

The heroes are also bound to face the iconic villain Rita Repulsa and Alpha 5, along with the dinozoids and the original theme song.

The film stars Elizabeth Banks as Repulsa, Ludi Lin as Zack, Naomi Scott as Kimberly, Cycler as Billy, Becky G. as Trini, Montgomery as Jason, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.

Israelite's "Power Rangers" is slated to hit United States theaters on Mar. 24, 2017.
