‘Once Upon A Time’ Season 4 Spoilers, Plot Rumors: ‘Frozen’ Characters to Join Storybrooke
Fans of ABC's Once Upon A Time might be pleasantly suprised to learn of a new report that stated more "Frozen' characters will join next season.
In the show's Season 3 finale, it was revealed that Frozen's Queen Elsa will join the residents of Storybrooke, Maine, in the next installment.
TVline reported that it has received information concerning next season's casting which will include Queen Elsa's sister Anna and her beau, Kristoff. TVline said that Elsa will appear in nine episodes of Once Upon A Time, while the other Frozen characters may appear a bit less.
The report mentioned that the producers of the show have already started the audition process.
Casting will try to find actors that sync with the characters from Disney's beloved animated blockbuster.
They expect Once Upon A Time's Queen of Arendelle to be in her late 20's or early 30's and capture the role's core characteristics: a beautiful queen who has been struggling to control her power, one which could freeze anything in its path.
In the Disney animation, she realized that the only way to control her power is through love, and in this case, her love for her sister Anna.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the show's co-creators, said they will be adding a twist to Elsa's character, but will stay true to the essence of the animation.
"For us, I think this is Elsa from Frozen. That was kind of the inspiration"¦ Will there be our own elements put to it? Yes. Like all things like we do with Snow White or Peter Pan or Captain Hook, we take our own kind of twist on it but remaining faithful to the actual essence of the character," they told Entertainment Weekly.
For Anna's character, the producers are looking for someone who is Elsa-like in all manners of craziness, someone fun-loving, adventure-seeking and a fearless optimist. They want someone to capture Elsa's "in-over-her-head" personality and often finds herself in trouble, but through her resourcefulness triumphs in the end.
According to the producers, Kristoff's character should be the handsome, outdoorsy guy who loves to spend his time out in the cold and is a loner. But for the TV adaptation, a scene change is appropriate where the audience will meet him adjusting to castle life with Anna. At least, this is the intended storyline for Anna and Kristoff.
However, Olaf, the summer-loving Snow Man, might not be seen in the show, although some have suggested that CGI will be used in case he is considered to appear in the new season.
It has been confirmed that the fourth season of Once Upon a Time will be split in two, with the first half airing in the Fall of 2014 and the second half in the spring of 2015.
