Nintendo NX Release Date News, Update: GameStop Senior Executive Hints 'Console's Arrival Is Fast Approaching'

In line with the anticipated console, the Nintendo NX, it seems that its arrival is fast approaching.

GameStop senior executive Tony Bartel talked about Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony's plans on releasing new class of consoles in the future and what he said suggested that the three companies are not backing out from their plan.

In a statement at an event hosted by GameStop, Bartel said that although they had not modeled extensive growth for new innovation in his presentation, they were very pleased to see the introduction like virtual reality and rumored new console launches, adding that some of which seemed imminent.

"As usual, we know more than we can share," Bartel said at the event.

While Bartel did not specify a gaming console in his statement and none of the three companies has given a statement with regard to their future releases, Bartel's message could be viewed as true, as it supports speculations about new gaming consoles and devices that are set for release at sometime in the future.

According to a Reddit user (via Express UK), the Nintendo NX was going to have a screen controller and could be used anywhere to play one's home console games. The forum contributor also mentioned that the controller itself would not have any processing capabilities, adding that it would likely have basic OS functions to access the NX console from anywhere, like a small CPU.

As per to Tech Radar, the Nintendo NX may cost around $150 to $200, since its consoles are typically less expensive when compared to Microsoft and Sony. As per the publication, "Super Mario" and "Legend of Zelda" are two games that could come along with its release. The publication added that Nintendo always had that "distinction" when it comes to family friendly console gaming.

With the aforementioned details about the Nintendo NX, its exact release date is yet to be revealed.
