Newsboys' ‘Love Riot’ Debuts At The Top Of Christian Charts

The latest album by the Newsboys, titled "Love Riot," soared to the top of the Christian charts just two weeks after its release on March 4.

According to a recent press release, the album debuted at the top of the Nielsen SoundScan Christian Digital Albums chart and the Christian Top Albums chart by iTunes. It also landed in the top 10 of iTunes Top Albums chart and settled at no. 14 in Billboard Top 200.

It's no surprise, however, considering the pedigree of the men behind the Newsboys' latest outing, "Love Riot." Produced by Mark Needham, whose work includes The Killers and Imagine Dragons, Zach Hall (Five Knives), and Grammy winners Mick O' Connor and Seth Mosley.

This would be Needham's first collaboration with a Christian band.

"The album is highlighted by the first single, 'Guilty,' the theme song of Pure Flix's upcoming motion picture 'God's Not Dead 2,'" the press release said.

"Love Riot also showcases the title-cut, a call to reach the world with love; the worshipful 'You Hold It All (Every Mountain);' and the adrenaline-pumping 'Crazy,' an anthem inspiring believers to live radically for Christ, among other songs."

The Newsboys will be embarking on the final leg of their "We Believe...God's Not Dead" tour starting in spring this year.
