New Spider-Man Actor News, Rumors: 'Weeds' Actor Mateus Ward Tapped for Marvel Webslinger Role?

The long search for the young and fresh new Spider-Man actor continues, although with this rumor, it may have finally come to a conclusion.

Word from Bada** Digest would have us believe that Marvel held a top secret audition for the young male actor Mateus Ward, a child actor from Showtime's 'Weeds'. It was also reportedly held in someone's house and not in an actual office.

There is no word if anything became finalized with the actor, but Marvel has stated that they will feature Spider-Man in the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil War' film, which also goes into production in two weeks. Whoever it's going to be, it's apparent that the studio doesn't have much time.

It would also seem that this actor would indefinitely play Peter Parker and not Miles Morales which was suggested by a previous source.

"At one point, there was some speculation going around that the new Spider-Man wouldn't be white, but if this report is to be believed, it's tough to imagine that Ward would be up for Miles Morales; that would sort of defeat the point of that character, and would conjure up far more bad press than Marvel needs," writes GeekTyrant.

Whoever it ends up being, there's no doubt that the kid will have to learn the character, and fast, as he'll be a centerpiece in the MCU from here on out.
