New Spider-Man Actor News: Insider Dishes Scoop on Next Actor to Take on Role

With everyone speculating who will be the lucky kid to don the spidey-suit in Marvel's reboot of the franchise, some recent news from a film reporter alerts fans that he believes the next Spider-Man won't be white.

Jeff Sneider from The Wrap announced the news on a "Meet the Movie Press" podcast as a guest, saying:

"Listen, this is not set in stone guys, but I'm telling you right now, Spider-Man's not going to be white. Spider-Man's not going to be white. I'm 95% sure. Spider-Man's going to be most likely black. But there's a chance he could also be Latino. 95% sure, not white."

These claims would refute the previous Marvel claims that the new actor will play the new "Peter Parker," who has been historically white. If this however isn't true, then the only other option for a Spider-Man would be Miles Morales, a black and latino version of the character in the "Ultimate Spider-Man" universe.

He goes on to say:

"I really feel strongly. Sony has an opportunity to beat Marvel and DC to the punch with a major black comic book character. Like I mentioned last week, the emails that leaked were perceived as racist in some quarters. I really think that's going to play into things."

There has of yet been no comments confirming or dismissing these rumors. Whoever is to play the new Spider-Man, fans should know fairly soon as it is confirmed that the character will appear in 'Captain America: Civil War', slated to release in May 2016.
