The annual NEEDTOBREATHE charity golf tournament, the fourth from the southern Christian band, has drawn the commitment of NBA hall of famer Rick Barry, "Hercules" actor Kevin Sorbo, golf pro Russell Henley, and NFL player Adam Humphries.

Proceeds from the annual charity golf tournament will go to support the Palmetto Medical Initiative which, according to its website, builds medical centers that provide high quality healthcare to poor beneficiaries.

Bear Rinehart, Needtobreathe's lead vocalist, said they are always looking forward to the charity golf tournament.

"The lineup of celebrities this year is the best we've ever had, so we can't wait to see what kind of money will be raised for this great cause," he said in a statement received by BREATHEcast.

Also participating in the charity event are members of the rock band Switchfoot, along with singer Drew Holcomb, worship leader John Mark McMillan, and musician Mat Kearney.

Last year's charity event raised a total of $250,000 for Palmetto Medical Initiative.

The southern gospel band is also very active on its Instagram as the members continue to engage their fans in supporting their advocacies.

Needtobreathe is even offering a free song to fans who will donate $5 or more to Palmetto. "Not only will you be getting a free song, but you will be helping build a new health clinic in Nicaragua!" one of the Instagram posts said.

Just a week ago, band members gave signed guitars to lucky donors in Illinois by helping build a medical clinic in Uganda, according to another Instagram post.

The Needtobreathe 4th annual charity golf tournament will be held at South Carolina's Daniel Island Country Club on March 21.
