Microsoft Xbox One News: Upload Studio Update Adds New Features for Gamers

An update to Xbox One's Upload Studio has been confirmed and is ready to use. The update rolled out on Monday, February 16.

Upload is the access to record gameplay on the Xbox One. This feature is especially nice for Xbox owners who like to do "Let's Play" videos. Upload's partner, Upload Studio, is an editing tool compatible with Xbox One and allows players to use title screens and other editing features. Combined with Studio, players can create their own accessible and easy-to-make videos for their gameplays.

The update for Upload Studio included extended time limit of recorded gameplay by thirty minutes. Another update is users can now use up to fifteen different recorded clips or effects to videos, according to Jordan Sirani from IGN.

The new features also include new transitions, title cards, intros, effects splash screens, templates, text overlays and voiceovers. Some custom features are with specific games like 'Forza Horizon 2' and 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare'. If Xbox One owners also have a Kinect, they can use it as a green screen and record videos that way.

Rob Crossley of Gamespot said, "Since the launch of the Xbox One in November 2013, Microsoft has taken a proactive approach to platform updates, and usually rolls out new system software on a monthly basis. The company says that, in 2014 alone, it had introduced more than 100 new features and adjustments to the operating system."

Crossley went on to say, "Meanwhile, Microsoft has made significant changes to the console's hardware, first by improving ESRAM performance, and then with an update that adjusts the Xbox One's CPU performance so that more processing resources can be used by games."
