Fans can expect Netflix to release "Longmire" season 5 in September. As per the studio's tweet on July 3, the forthcoming crime drama is set to air on Sept. 23.

It has been rumored that "Longmire" season 5 would be the last installment for the series franchise. However, lead actor Lou Diamon Phillips debunked the rumors. On June 21, he tweeted that for some reason, some people had the mistaken assumption that season 5 was their last. "Not so," he added.

In terms of story arc, "Longmire" season 5 is set to see an improvement in the dynamics between Vic Moretty and Walt Longmire. According to Game N Guide, the duo might also end up becoming lifetime partners, since Craig Johnson's "The Walt Longmire Mystery Series" saw the characters in a romantic dynamics.
