'Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV' News & Update: Film Expands Reach To Nine New US Cities

"Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV" opened in a total of 24 selected theaters earlier this month for its initial debut. While most of the major cities were already covered, the CG film is expanding its reach to other cities in the United States.

The nine new cities include Phoenix, Philadelphia, Detroit, Minneapolis, Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Columbus and Denver.  A recent tweet from the official Twitter account of Kingsglaive also revealed that the film's run in some cities has been extended for another week. However, the tweet did not make any mention of the specific markets.

The film features the voices of "The Lord of the Ring's" Sean Bean, "Breaking Bad's" Aaron Paul and "Game of Thrones'" Lena Headley. It will be made available through digital channels on Aug. 30, while the Blu-ray and DVD version will be available starting Oct. 4.

The official synopsis for the movie reads, "The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king's magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum--to marry his son, Prince Noctis, to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empire's rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination."

"Kingsglaive" is being widely praised for being an "exemplary work."

"The casting is on point, and the visuals are sharp and spectacular," said critic Alexa Ray Corriea on Gamespot.
