'Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon', the latest in the New Line Cinema 'Journey' franchise, starring The Rock (Dwayne Johnson), was originally slated to premiere August 15 of this year. However, new reports state that the film is not yet ready and remains in its development stage, as no new release date has been officially announced.

The new film is supposedly the second sequel to the 2008 original movie, 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' by Warner Bros. The first sequel, entitled 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island', was released in 2012.

Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes of 'The Conjuring' are set to pen the third installment to the action-adventure fantasy movie, contrary to early reports that said writers Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn will be heading the film's storyline. The plot to the new sequel is currently in its development stage, but 'Journey 3' will still be directed by Brad Peyton of 'Cats & Dogs'.

Both Charlotte Huggins and Beau Flynn, with Sam Turner as executive producer, will produce the upcoming movie. Apart from Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson as Sean, and Selack Demir, whose role remains undisclosed up to this day, will also join the forthcoming 'Journey 3' film.

Additionally, The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson has already been confirmed to return to the franchise in the future film 'Journey 4'. Despite the delays in the forthcoming movie's production, the producers of 'Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon' promise the best film in the franchise so far.
