iPod Touch 6G Release Date Rumors: Reports Claim Launch Delayed to March 2015

If new reports are to be believed, Apple has postponed the release date of its new iPod Touch 6G to March 2015. Earlier reports had claimed that the next-gen iPod would arrive in the market in October 2014 but that date has come and gone with no news.

The Mobile Hub had earlier reported that the release date of the iPod Touch 6G will coincide with iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 3 launch. The Apple iPad event came as expected in October 2014, a month after the launch of the iPhone 6.

Even tech experts like Tom Bones had been predicting that the release of the iPod Touch 6G would come soon after the launch of the iPhone 6, which was launched in September.

Similarly, a report in the Phones Review website had noted that the iPod Touch 6th generation release date or unveiling was likely to occur in October, alongside the iOS 8, the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3.

Now, TechMania has reported that the release date of the iPod Touch 6G has been postponed to March 2015.

The report claims, "Apple like to keep the spotlight on their new iPhone models in September, and of course the iOS 8 public release will feature as well."

Like in the case of the iPad Mini 3 and the iPad Air 2, it is expected that the iPod Touch 6G will also incorporate the Touch ID, one of the main featues of iOS 8 - the latest mobile operating system launched by Apple recently. The Touch ID is Apple's fingerprint recognition tool for security as well as convenience options.
