'GTA 6' Release Date, News, Rumors: Map Building Done; Game Set In Tokyo?

In line with Rockstar Games' upcoming "Grand Theft Auto 6," also known as "GTA 6," map building has been reportedly done. Also, the game is reportedly set in Japan.

Rockstar Games' developers have already completed the map-building stage for "GTA 6," the latest installment for the "Grand Theft Auto" game franchise, according to Value Walk. As per the publication, the game setting is yet to be revealed, even after the completion of the map-building phase of the game.

Rumors say that "GTA 6" is set in Japan, particularly in Tokyo, as per Tech Radar. According to the publication, Rockstar had considered a "GTA" game set in Tokyo and the game would be called "GTA: Tokyo." The publication added that the company was serious about the concept of having a Tokyo-based game.

Rockstar reportedly eyed Tokyo as one of the game's settings, as the development team had traveled to Tokyo during the reign of "GTA 3" and "Vice City" to take reference images, talk with locales, and check the place. An issue spotted during the visit was the Tokyo's road system, which was reportedly problematic.

Aside from Tokyo, other rumors revealed that "GTA 6" could be set in Las Vegas or San Andreas. With the recent completion of the game map, it is assumed that the developers are bound to develop the storytelling mechanics.

Rockstar Games' "GTA 6" stands as the sequel to "GTA 5" and it is assumed that Rockstar will announced it at the E3 2016. The game is set to run for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at a later date.
