'God's Not Dead' Movie Wins Dove Award for Inspirational Film of the Year and Film and Television Impact Award at K-LOVE
'God's Not Dead' recently received high honors at the Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards as it won Inspirational Film of the Year.
The smash hit film beat out 'Grace Unplugged', 'Heaven Is For Real', 'Son of God', and 'When Calls The Heart'. The movie also won the Film Television Impact Award at the K-LOVE Fan Awards in June.
The budget was around $2 million and it made $9.2 million in its first week at the box office on a limited run of 780 screens.
When 'God's Not Dead' made its home release in August 2014, it debuted at No. 1 on the Nielsen Christian Videos sales chart, and No. 2 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert and Blu-ray Disc sales charts.
The movie has grossed over $110 million in domestic and foreign theatrical, and home entertainment sales combined. International distribution will be sending 'God's Not Dead' over to the Philippines in November.
The movie's producers, Michael Scott, David A.R. White, Russell Wolfe, and Elizabeth Travis have been overwhelmed by audience and industry reaction.
"We are humbled and grateful for the support of audiences, pastors, church leaders and those who saw the greater message of God's Not Dead," said producer Michael Scott in a press release, "The making of this film has been an incredible and poignant journey, and the success has been an even greater surprise."
Pure Flix producers recently announced that 'God's Not Dead 2' is in development and their follow up film, 'Do You Believe?' starring Mira Sorvino, Cybil Shepherd, Delroy Lindo, and Sean Astin is expected as an Easter 2015 theatrical release.
