For King & Country’s Joel Smallbone Honors Teens Beheaded by ISIS for Christian Faith; Encourages All to Stand for God [WATCH HERE]
Just hours before news broke about an alleged ISIS member holding captive hostages in Australia, Joel Smallbone member of the Christian rock duo for King & Country, paid homage to four teenagers that were beheaded by ISIS for not renouncing their Christian faith.
In a video posted by Smallbone on his band's Facebook page, the singer emotionally shared with fans his respect for the brave boys. He also emphasized that Christians should value their freedom.
"A message for you..." he wrote, "Just read that 4 teenagers, all under the age of 15 were beheaded by ISIS.. They were asked to renounce Jesus, to which they replied, 'No, we love Yeshua; we have always loved Yeshua; we have always followed Yeshua; Yeshua has always been with us'."
The "Fix my Eyes" singer stated, "Those young men, are my heroes, and I look forward to embracing them on the other side."
The Australian native shared the post with his supporters perhaps to also remind the western world that freedom is not something to take for granted. "It's a good reminder... to us all that this freedom that we have is not something that the rest of the world experiences, and it's not something that should be taken lightly," he concluded, "My friends lets continue to stand for God, and lets stand for each other, stand for someone greater then ourselves.
Thousands of people immediately responded to the video message with support for Smallbone's message and thoughts about the teenage martyrs. "Thank you for posting this, I don't think any of us really realize how cozy comfy we have it here in the western world," one wrote, Another said, "Prayers for their families and friends. Crowns await them in heaven for not renouncing our savior."
