‘Finding Dory' Release Date, Plot Spoilers: Nemo and Marlin Join Dory's Quest for Closure

Following Disney's success with the animated film 'Finding Nemo' in 2003, fans have been anticipating the release of its sequel, 'Finding Dory' ever since. Even though fans will still have to wait another two years to see the film, Pixar recently revealed some major spoilers about the movie.

During the Comic Con Experience in Brazil, Pixar President Jim Morris gave fans some spoilers on what to expect in the upcoming movie.

According to Morris, the movie is expected to hit theaters on June 17, 2016 and that the majority of the film will not be shot in the ocean.

He added that the film will take place in the Marine Biology Institute of California, a huge complex of rehabilitation for marine life, which, in the movie, is the place where Dory was born, and where she will return to try to learn more about her childhood and family.

Ellen Degeneres and Albert Brooks will return as Dory and Marlin in the sequel, while Eugene Levy will play Dory's father and Dory's mother will be voiced by Diane Keaton.

In the movie, Dory joins Nemo on a school trip to watch the migration of manta rays. During the trip, the forgetful Dory started recalling memories of her past and family, which inspired her to embark on a journey in search of her parents.

The film takes place several months after 'Finding Nemo' left off, and Dory is living with Marlin and Nemo in the same reef, who both tag along on her journey to find her family.

On a side note, recently report about 'Finding Dory' stated that the movie was altered after the controversial documentary 'Blackfish' was shown.

'Blackfish' was a documentary which showed killer whales in captivity, and which led to a lot of negative publicity for Sea World.

Due to the documentary, Pixar allegedly decided to showcase that the fish and mammals in the film have the option of leaving the aquatic center if they choose to.
