'Fast and Furious 8' Spoilers, News: Scott Eastwood Set To Play Paul Walker's Role?

Along with talks that Scott Eastwood is set to fill in late Paul Walker's role in F. Gary Gray's upcoming film "Fast and Furious 8," also known as "Fast 8," it is revealed that film actress Michelle Rodriguez seems unhappy about it.

Rodriguez plays the role of Letty "Ortiz" Toretto in the "Fast and Furious" film franchise and she is set to reprise the role in Gray's forthcoming film. In her interview with Hollywood Life, she mentioned that no one can fill Walker's role in the "Fast and Furious" film franchise.

Rodriguez said that she did not know about it, adding that nobody would ever, as long as she lived, fill that role. "Understand that?" the actress said.

According to Parent Herald, "Fast 8" had recently tapped Eastwood to join the car racing film as a new character, who will be running under Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody. Details on his exact role are yet to be revealed; however, rumors have surfaced, implying that the actor is set to play Vin Diesel's car racing buddy who will replace Walker's Brian O'Conner.

It was earlier in April when Eastwood was cast for an undisclosed role in "Fast 8," according to Movie News Guide. As per the publication, the actor's inclusion in the film raised rumors that the film franchise has moved on from losing O'Conner and is now set to introduce another wheel-steering character.

Meanwhile, Eastwood shared his thoughts about "Fast 8" and his role on his Instagram account. He wrote that he was excited for the next "Fast and Furious" film. The actor also mentioned that Walker had been a close friend of his, mentioning that they had surfed together, had traveled together, and he had been a huge role model and influencing figure in his life when he had been younger.

For Eastwood, Walker had been an older brother to him and that the series was so much more than just a franchise, but a legacy.

Aside from Rodriguez and Eastwood, the film also stars Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Kristofer Hivju, Lucas Black, Eva Mendes, Kurt Russell, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, and Charlize Theron.

For the time being, it is assumed that fans are thrilled to see the film, as it is set to feature new car models, such as the 1967 Ford Mustang, 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo RB-Swapped, Jensen Interceptor, 1987 Buick GNX, and the Corvette Grand Sport.

"Fast 8" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on Apr. 14, 2017.
