'Fast and Furious 8' Cast News: Production Considering Three Prominent Female Leads
'Fast and Furious' movie franchise is certainly among the most lucrative and, over the years, it has garnered millions of fans worldwide. Nevertheless, following the death of one of the favorite stars, Paul Walker, the production is tasked with finding another actor who will make the upcoming installment equally or even more thrilling.
According to Christian Today, there are rumors that the production is considering Angelina Jolie to fill in the gap left behind by Walker.
It is guessed that this information may possibly have come from the fact that actress Michelle Rodriguez, who herself articulated her wish for Jolie to appear in the upcoming movie.
In an interview with ET Online, Rodriguez revealed how she dreamed of having Jolie as her co-star and emphasized that she doesn't want the 40-year-old 'Maleficent' actress to be cast in a role that would be her adversary.
Rodriguez told the website, "Let's stop hitting each other and let's stop fighting each other, and let's start getting together and ganging up on people."
In fact, Jolie is just one of the new names that are currently being linked to 'Fast & Furious 8.' The others include the 'Orange is the New Black' actress Ruby Rose and Dame Helen Mirren.
Mirren portrayed the character of a hardcore female in the action film 'RED' alongside Bruce Willis and she should do great in a movie like 'Fast & Furious.' Moreover, the actress herself has expressed her desire to be part of the production.
Talking to ET during the premiere of her new movie 'Woman in Gold' in New York in March, Mirren said, "I've always wanted to be in a Fast and Furious movie but they've never asked me," adding, "I don't understand why!"
Then again, Australian actress Ruby Rose has also been reportedly considered for an important role in the upcoming 'Fast and Furious 8.' Nevertheless, there are rumors that she has been turned down since she looks like Justin Bieber. Hence, it is not certain whether or not Rose will be joining the cast.
Meanwhile, it is certain that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will surely appear in 'Furious 8.' The actor himself confirmed his participation in the upcoming movie. Moreover, Johnson hinted that there could be a possible spin-off to his character Luke Hobbs.
'Fast and Furious 8' is slated to hit theaters in April 2017.
