'Duck Dynasty' Cast Interview News: Alan Robertson Helps the Salvation Army 'We Really Do Believe God Has Raised Us Up'
The Robertson family of "Duck Dynasty" fame have never been afraid when it comes to expressing their Christian faith. At a recent event in Mississippi, Pastor Alan Robertson revealed the secret to his family's success.
"We really do believe God has raised us up," said Robertson to people at a Salvation Army event in Pearl, Mississippi.
In a recent interview with Fox News, he talked about why his family is supporting the Salvation Army, a company that is world renowned for their charitable work.
"One of the great things about the Salvation Army and the Robertson family is we're both trying to help people. Our family has been about reaching out and telling people about the good news about Jesus. And in essence, that's exactly what the Army does," said Robertson to Fox News.
Three months ago in Jackson, Mississippi; a Salvation Army building was burned by a fire. It is estimated that it will cost at least $1.5 million to repair the building that was scorched in a flame on Jan. 3, 2014.
Salvation Army's Captain Ken Chapman believes the "Duck Dynasty" cast is doing the Lord's work.
"...God is using a bunch of rednecks now to tell the story like the Robertsons, and doing it well, so their message is like our message," said Capt. Chapman to Fox News.
Republican Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant echoes Capt. Chapman's views on the Robertson family and their hit television show on the A&E network.
"Oh I do, I love it, I love it. I think it's because it's a family-based, faith-oriented show. I think America is yearning again to see that nuclear family, and to make sure our children understand what that really looks like," said Gov. Bryant to Fox News.
Phil and Miss Kay Robertson's eldest son has been sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over two decades as an evangelist. Despite the fact that his family are now celebrities, Robertson believes that fame and success will not change his or his family's lifestyle or beliefs.
"I talk about what I always talk about. Faith, family and ducks," said Alan Robertson to Fox News in a recent interview.
