The new Disney Infinity Marvel Battlegrounds trailer was recently released online and here's what we know so far.

Comic Book has recently released a bunch of photos from the sandbox video game and it looks really cool! The characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are all there as well as the black suit Spider-Man. Fans might want to check it out.

The Marvel Battlegrounds play set is set to be released some time next week. Apart from the Marvel expansion, it was also reported that there will also be a Star Wars version of the sandbox video game.

According to Game Informer, John Vignocchi, the Vice President of Disney Infinity, said that instead of a Disney Infinity 4.0, they will focus on the expansion of the version 3.0.

"We're changing our dev focus for 2016 in order to meet the market demand, and most importantly, feedback from our community. We feel that we've introduced the four core franchises of the Walt Disney Company to Disney Infinity, and now that we've done that we can start thinking differently about how we bring products to market. We're going to give fans what they've been asking for, and provide updates to Disney Infinity 3.0 with more content, characters, and play sets from all of our beloved brands," he said.

The reason behind a Marvel and Star Wars expansion of the game might also be because they are two of the hottest franchise that the company has at the moment; each having at least one blockbuster movie coming out each year.

Disney Infinity 3.0's Marvel Battlegrounds will be released on March 15.
