Darlene Zschech Cancer Update: Singer Gives Thanks This Thanksgiving; Doctor Declares She is 'Miraculously Cancer Free' [VIDEO]
Darlene Zschech had much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving as the psalmist updated her fans in a blog post declaring that her doctor has confirmed she is cancer free.
Zschech took to her blog the day before Thanksgiving to give her supporters an update to rejoice over. It was her first checkup after her gruesome surgery and treatments. After announcing the engagement of her middle daughter Chloe, Zschech shared her health update.
"We are SO blessed to report that there is no sign of cancer in this body!!!!!" she declared.
The former Hillsong worshipper confessed she was nervous going to the doctor again because last December, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Although she knew she was doing better and recovering, she admits she held back a bit "just in case."
There was nothing to worry about though, "In the good Dr's very South African accent he said 'this is quite miraculous Darlene'!!." she wrote. "We have wept, danced, hugged our arms out, and have literally just said THANK YOU to Jesus as many times as one can."
Many times during the 11 month battle, Zschech said her fans' prayers and support have really helped her and shared in a recent blog post her gratitude. "Again, I thank each and every one of you for your relentless prayers, I have felt the effects of them a million times over, and I just sit here today, one very grateful woman."
In the singer's previous blog post she said cancer has changed her and helped her live with more intentionality. Again she reiterates that sentiment.
"Life will never be the same, I believe it will be SO much better," she noted, "Even though I will have checkups every four months, and will be on medication for ten years, I feel I have been given an official 'second half'.. one which is dedicated to the things of God like never before."
Many have labeled Zschech as a "pioneer of the modern worship movement." Her biggest song to date is, "Shout to the Lord" as it has become one of the most famous modern worship songs of all time being sang by an estimated 25-30 million churchgoers since the song's release.
Continue to keep the well-respected worship leader and her family in your prayers as they settle back into to every day life spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
