'Captain America 3' Latest News: Filming Starts in April 2015, Black Panther to Play Pivotal Role

Perhaps, 'Captain America: Civil War' is the most intriguing movie in Marvel's Phase Three slate. Apart from being a top grosser in the class of superhero movies, the story of the 'Captain America' is also an important one in the comic's storyline.

According to Christian Today, although it is not yet certain whether Marvel Studios will pursue the story as it is in the comic book, one thing is certain - that viewers will see Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) confronting each other in the upcoming movie.

While the plot regarding the battle between the Pro-Registration Act advocates and Anti-Registration Act supporters is said to be lackluster, one vital thing is definitely missing - and that is Spider-Man. As far as the comics are concerned, Spider-Man has a very crucial and a pivotal role in the conflict between the government and the opposition. In the beginning, he supports the Iron Man, who is an advocator for the new law. However, the Spider-Man later joins hand with Captain America, who opposes the new law.

If the rights of Spider-Man are with either Marvel or Disney, it would not be a problem to have him in the upcoming superhero movie 'Captain America: Civil War.' However, the fact is that Sony owns the rights on the web-slinging superhero and, therefore, Marvel was left with only one option - finding a way around this.

According to Matt Creamer of Creamers Cinema Craze, in fact, Marvel has decided that Black Panther will be playing the pivotal role of Spider-Man's in the upcoming movie. As Black Panther is a neutral character, it certainly makes sense to include him in 'Civil War.'

That Marvel will be using Black Panther as a substitute for Spider-Man was evident when actor Chadwick Boseman, who will be portraying the character, was included in the Marvel Phase Three announcement. Even as Evans and Downey have been promoting the third installment of the "Captain America" film, Boseman has announced the solo "Black Panther" flick. This aside, most are still of the view that Black Panther will have a major role to play in 'Civil War.'

Meanwhile, when Anthony Mackie (Sam Wilson/ Falcon) was asked about the shooting date as well as location of 'Civil War' during an interview with Kevin Coster of B96 Chicago, he said, "We start shooting in April so it's going to be a lot of flying and fighting for about five months," adding that they will be filming in "Puerto Rico, Berlin and Atlanta."
