'Big Hero 6' Disney Movie Rumors, Latest News: Collaboration With Marvel On Film
Big Hero 6 is an action-comedy-adventure-animated movie and is the latest project by Walt Disney Animation Studios. It is set to be released in November of this year, 2014 according to IMDB.com, and is the first movie collaboration with the cartoon giant with Marvel.
The film based on Marvel's Japanese super team, a brainchild of the American writer Steve Seagle, and comic writer Duncan Rouleau, who is also the creator of Cartoon Network's Ben 10. The characters and concepts were taken from the Canadian team of superheroes, Alpha Flight, which dates back to the 90's.
The film features a robotics prodigy named Hiro Hamada, who found himself caught in the center of a terror plot to annihilate San Fransokyo, obviously a fusion of San Francisco and Tokyo, a highly advanced and urbanized futuristic city.
Disney has so far been quiet about the intriguing details of the animation film. It has, however, already released images of the film's heroes and villains, 13-year old Hiro Hamada, the robot nurse Baymax, barista Honey Lemon, bike messenger GoGo Tomago, sushi chef Wasabi No-Ginger, and fan boy Fred.
After Disney confirmed about its collaboration with Marvel, many speculated that the Avengers characters would make a cameo appearance. The superheroes' fans had their hopes crushed however, when one of the film's movie directors, Don Hall, announced on Total Film that there will be no cameo appearance for America's super team.
So far, Disney has not been so keen yet on unraveling more details about the movie, besides its title.
